CabFind has launched a new booking service called Text a Taxi that enables the business traveller to book a taxi by SMS text message – great for booking in noisy places where conversation may be difficult such as a busy airport or where the signal strength on a mobile phone may fluctuate such as a train.

Each traveller may register a mobile phone online and then set up an address book, listing a keyword such as ‘home’ or ‘work’ against each address. Then the traveller simply texts the relevant keyword, a pick-up time and the service required to our national text number. The traveller then receives a message back confirming the booking with contact details and a reference number. Very simple and extremely effective.
